“Reshape”
"Reshape" is a project that aims at using the textiles scraps produced by the fashion’s industries present in the territory, through the techniques and the skills of the traditional Lombardia's artisans.
Lombardy is an industrialized region and at the same time is a land full of history attached to his tradition.
A lot of waste is created during the textiles production and to keep up with times most meters of textiles are thrown away.
I learned from an artisan a Lombardian technique used to made rugs. By using the textiles scraps from the textile company “Rubelli” and a metal wire I designed a new type of textile that can keep the shape given to it, and repeatedly changed.
The textile can be applied to different products and use; I designed a series of lights with it, allowing the user to change the intensity of the light and personalized the shape. The project was selected for the exhibition in Milano Ventura, during the DW2018.
