Design to 3D print biomaterials
Krill Design is an Italian design studio specialized in the development of new design products within a 100% circular and sustainable process. The startup has patented a process that convert food waste into a sustanible material, natural and compostable: Rekrill. Krill Design develops circular economy projects for food industies and at the same time it has started to develop its own design portfolio of consumer goods.
I designed with Krill some products, all of them designed to be 3d printed with in mind the potentials and the limitations of this specific manufacturing process: by reducing to 0 the postproduction phase; by designing geometries that are very difficult or impossible to be reproduced with other manufacturing technique; and least by taking a particular attention to the amount of time and material used in order to compete with the prizes on the design market.
